Starting Saturday morning, the streets of Vaiden, Carrollton and North Carrollton will be filled with people wanting to catch a glimpse of the annual area Christmas Parades.

The Vaiden Christmas Parade is set to begin at 11 a.m., with lineup starting at 10 a.m.

The parade will line up just west of the old Vaiden High School and proceed down Mulberry Street, where it will turn right on Lee Street at City Hall.

Judges will review floats, cars, and bands in front of the Vaiden City Hall building. The parade will then continue left at Magnolia Street passing the Mallory Clinic, then turning left onto Highway 51. The route ends in front of St. Clements Episcopal Church.

This year's Grand Marshals will be Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Noah of Vaiden, and the theme for this year's parade will be "The Color of Christmas."

A few hours later, the start of the Carrollton-North Carrollton Christmas Parade will be at 3 p.m.

This year's theme of the parade will be "Christmas in Toyland."

Parade entry forms are available in North Carrollton at Anderson's Pharmacy, North Carrollton City Hall and the Kozy Kitchen Restaurant, according to Glenda Jenkins, one of the organizers of the event. In Carrollton, entry forms are available at the Carroll County Extension Office and the Chancery Clerk's office.

A registration table will be located at the Carroll County Court House in Carrollton on parade day, according to Jenkins.

"In order to participate in the parade you must be registered by 2:30 p.m.," Jenkins said. "Line-up for floats and cars will be on a first-come basis the day of parade."

Jenkins said four-wheelers and off-road bikes are not allowed.

Jenkins said this year's parade will also have a military theme, and the Grand Marshal this year will be Percy Norwood, Ret. U.S. Coast Guard.
