Voters in Beat 2 will head to the polls on November 5 to elect a new member of the Carroll County School Board of Trustees.

Both Dollinda Neal Malone and Donnie Wiltshire are vying for Beat Two's vacated seat which will be determined during next Tuesday's election. Jim Strong resigned from the position in October 2012.

According to Circuit Clerk Durward Stanton, the Carrollton Precinct, located at the Carroll County Extension Service office on the Carrollton Square, and Ray's Shop/Volunteer Fire Department precinct, located on Teoc Road near Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, will be opened for the election from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on November 5.

There are approximately 1,500 registered voters in Carroll County's Beat Two.

Malone, who made a run for the same seat in 2011, will take on Wiltshire, a former coach at J.Z. George High School.

The Beat Two board seat has been vacated twice in three years. Former trustee Marcus Kuykendall resigned from the seat in 2011. Strong was appointed to the position in 2011, and was re-elected in the 2011 General Election, only to resign in October 2012.
