The J.Z. George Jaguars boys cross country team had a stellar finish at the Mississippi College Invitational Cross Country meet on Saturday.

Head Coach Heath Dudley said the team have set their sights on the Starkville Invitational on October 19.

The Jags finished second overall, and the girls' team had an 11th place finish.

"It was a better day than last week especially with Donald Woods and Toi'Quan Duren," Dudley said. "We still are not racing like a complete team, and if we did would have won the meet very easily. Our guys have to understand this, or November 9 will be a long disappointing day."

For the girls, Dudley said it was a very disappointing day overall.

"If we just have a normal race we would have finished ahead of last year's 2A state champions," Dudley said. " But, we continue not to compete when the race gets going. It's something that has to be corrected, or it will carry over to everything we do."
