The Lady Tigers take a 5-0 district record to Charleston today with hopes of returning with a championship.
"We've defeated everyone in the district twice, except Charleston," coach Randy Marchant said. "If we play the way we know we can, we can do it."
With two weeks remaining in the season, Marchant said he hopes the bats come around for the Lady Tigers.
"I think fatigue set in on them," Marchant said. "They played seven games in nine days, and I hope they're a little loose now."
With players like Mary Ashton Thornburg, Blake Bond, Adrienne Eskridge and MaKayla Helms hitting the ball well the past few games, Marchant said runners in scoring position is his main concern down the stretch.
"We have to hit the ball to the opposite field and move runners over," he said. "Along with defense, it's those little things that we want to do heading into the playoffs."
The Lady Tigers return home Monday to take on the Lady Dragons of Marks Palmer.
