COILA - Johnny Lowe Nichols, 65, died Friday September 20, 2013 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Jackson from respiratory failure.

He was born in Merigold June 10, 1948 to the late William Lowe and Viola Grace Johnson Nichols. Was a Sunday school teacher and deacon at Black Hawk Baptist Church. He was a wonderful father, loving husband and a fine Christian man. He was preceded in death by a son, John Jason Nichols.

Visitation was 12:30 to 2:00 p.m. Sunday, September 22 at Black Hawk Baptist Church in Carroll County. Funeral Services were 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Black Hawk Baptist Church with Reverend Gary Tanner and Reverend Brian Burson officiating.

Pallbearers were Kyle Nichols, Daniel Nichols, Michael Nichols, Bubba Standrod, Jared Counts and Darron Nichols. Honorary pallbearers were Braxton Myers, Roy Myers, Michael Myers, Michael Nichols, Thomas Counts, Chad Wiltshire, Jacob Myers, Carlin Myers, Ryan Nichols, Dawson Mims and Spencer Wiltshire. Burial will be in Black Hawk Baptist Cemetery in Black Hawk.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Mary K. 'Sissy' Myers Nichols of Coila, Son, Jeffrey Nichols of Sunflower, two sisters, Bobbie (Norman) Barnes of Carthage and Betty Johnson of Union, brother, Ronnie (Laverne) Nichols of West, seven grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be sent to St. Jude Children's Hospital or to the donor's choice.
