Funeral services for Mr. Orman McCoy Cox of North Carrollton were at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, September 23, at Lee Chapel in Winona, with Rev. Fletcher Morman and Rev. Eli Wiltshire officiating the services. Burial followed in Evergreen Cemetery in North Carrollton, with military honors. Visitation for Mr. Cox was held from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 22, at Lee Funeral Home.

Mr. Cox died at University Hospital in Lexington on Friday, September 20, of injuries received in an automobile accident. He was 81 years old.

Mr. Cox was the owner of Western Auto in North Carrollton, a cattleman, a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church near Coila, and a U. S. Navy Veteran of the Korean War. He was preceded in death by his wife, Myrtis Corley Cox; his parents, Bennie Watson and Wilna Daves Cox; and two brothers, Bobby Cox and Ben Alvin Cox.

Mr. Cox is survived by his daughter Kathy Cox of Carrollton, two sons, Gayland Cox and wife, Sophia, of Ridgeland and Terry Cox and wife, Vicki, of Carrollton; two sisters, Evelyn Winters of Indianola, and Sarah Eunice Pittman of Greenwood; two brothers, Billy Cox of Greenwood and Ronald Cox of Black Hawk; four grandchildren, Domina Cox, Daniel Cox, Russell Cox, and Conner Cox; and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Cox's grandsons Daniel, Russell, and Conner, along with Steve Anderson, Shane Cox, and Donnie Corley, served as pallbearers.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the North Carrollton Volunteer Fire Department, Anthony Birdsong, James Richard Turner, Lee "Cowboy" Quarles, and Edd Martin. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
