WINONA -- A win today for the Winona Lady Tigers slow pitch softball team will likely crown them as the 2013 4-3A champions.

The Lady Tigers host Charleston today in a game that coach Randy Marchant feels will be the game that decides if they will take the title.

"With a win on Thursday, that should do it for us," Marchant said. "Things are coming around for us, and players have found that chemistry."

On Tuesday, the Lady Tigers knocked off Leflore County 14-4 and prior to that matchup defeated Humphreys County 22-1, capitalized by a Blake Bond three-run homer.

"We've moved some folks around," Marchant said. "And on top of that, we're winning the games we need to win, which is very important."

With the playoffs right around the corner, the Lady Tigers will take Philadelphia on Saturday and end the season with match ups against M.S. Palmer, Charleston and O'Bannon.
