According to Tony Dunn, Public Information Officer with Troop D of the Mississippi Highway Safety Patrol, the accident occurred at the intersection of U.S. 82 and Mississippi 17 in Carrollton on Sunday morning, March 16.
The accident involved a 2005 Chevrolet Suburban, driven by a man Dunn identified as Dennis Garron, 40, of Kilmichael and a 1992 Ford F150, driven by a man identified as Ward Thomas, 92, of Carrollton.
According to Dunn, Garron, who was traveling west on US 82, was accompanied by three passengers, Tina Garron, 40, of Kilmichael, Mae Nora Taylor, 64, of Winona, a 10-year-old girl and a seven-year old-boy, both of Kilmichael.
Dunn said Thomas, traveling north on Highway 17, was attempting to cross the west bound lanes of traffic on Highway 82.
"As he did, he collided the front of his vehicle with the driver side passenger door area of vehicle one," Dunn said. "After impact both vehicles came to rest in the intersection area."

Dunn said the four passengers of the Chevrolet Suburban were transported to Greenwood-Leflore Hospital.
Taylor and the seven year old boy were taken to the University Medical Center in Jackson by Med Stat EMS with serious, but non-life threatening injuries.
According to Dunn, Thomas was extracted from his vehicle and was airlifted to the University Medical Center in Jackson.
As of press time, The Conservative learned that Thomas was in critical patient's intensive care unit.
According to Dunn, all involved in the accident were wearing their seatbelts, and the accident remains under investigation by the Mississippi Highway Safety Patrol.
The Carroll County Sheriff's Department, the Carrollton-North Carrollton Volunteer Fire Department were also at the scene of the accident.
